Hyderabad, April 30: TRS supremo K Chandrasekhara Rao who has been maintaining distance from the Telangana political JAC after his party’s debacle at the hands of the BJP in the recent by-poll to Mahabubnagar constituency, is now said to be making an all out effort to either remove the JAC chief Prof. Kodandaram or disband the JAC altogether.
According to reports, KCR is seething with anger at Kodandaram maintaining neutrality and allowing the Mahabubnagar unit of JAC to support BJP. It is learnt that KCR has been stating in close circles that it was atrocious that JAC which was his own creation has opposed his party.
KCR has been calling other important office bearers and district leaders of the JAC and telling them to choose between him and Kodandaram. He has also reportedly threatened them that if they want Kodandaram, TRS would walk out of the JAC.
Differences have sprouted between KCR and Kodandaram during the ‘Million March’ jointly undertaken last year in Hyderabad. Though they have patched up their differences later, the gap between the two has further widened after the Mahabubnagar by-election. KCR is firmly believing that it was due to the stand taken by the JAC that his party faced defeat in Mahabubnagar constituency. KCR who was all praise for the JAC and Kodandaram in his party’s 9th and 10th anniversaries, has not said a single word about either of them in the 11th anniversary held at Vikarabad recently. TRS leaders are stating in their private conversations that either JAC or the position held by Kodandaram, were all courtesy KCR.
Eetela Rajender, TRS Legislature Party leader has openly said that JAC was the creation of TRS and not the other way round.
A head on collision between TRS and BJP appears to be imminent in the Parakala constituency of Warangal district, where by-poll is due on June 12. It is in this context that KCR is strategically planning to either remove Kodandaram or bring him to his knees so as to make JAC extend its support to TRS.
It is learnt that Kodandaram is also consulting other partners of the JAC on the future course of action in view of the collision path chosen by the BJP and the TRS. He is also reportedly in touch with the suspended MPs of Congress, so as to take them into JAC fold. Kodandaram is likely to hold a meeting of the steering committee of the JAC shortly and place the facts before it.
