Gabbar Singh Movie Review:
Banner: Parameshwara Art productions Producer: Bandla Ganesh Director: Harish Shankar Music: Devisri Prasad Cast: Pawan Kalyan, Shruti Haasan, Kota Srinivasa Rao, Abhimanyu Singh, Ajay, Suhasini, Brahmanandam, Ali, Tanikella Bharani, Malaika Arora Rating: 3.5 Story: Power star Pawan Kalyan ‘Gabbar Singh’ is a remake of Bollywood hit film ‘Dabangg’. Though it is a routine story, Salman image and entertaining elements worked in favour of the movie. Director Harish Shankar chooses the same script and reworked on the screenplay to suit Telugu audience. Director Harish Shankar who is a big fan of Pawan Kalyan made sure that there is no disappointment for Pawan Kalyan fans this time. Let’s see how the movie is fared. Police officer Gabbar Singh ( Pawan Kalyan) looking to bridge the gap with his step brother Ajay and stepdad (Naidu) Nagineedu after the death of his mother ( Suhasini). At the same time Gabbar Singh has to stop the atrocities of local don Siddhappa Naidu (Abhimanyu Singh), an aspiring politician. And there is an overtime job for Gabbar Singh to lure Bhagya Lakshmi (Shruthi Haasan) who refuses to fell in his trap. Can Gabbar Singh successful in his three missions? Performance: Pawan Kalyan Rocks. After Kushi, undoubtedly this is the best movie for Pawan Kalyan. His comedy timing is awesome. Rocked in dances and fights. Pawan Kalyan dances are highlight. In one word, it is a tailor made role for Pawan Kalyan. Shruthi Haasan justified her role and acted well in the limited scope she got. This will be a first hit to her credit. Abhimanyu Singh gave a terrific performance in antagonist role. He matched Pawan Kalayan in confrontation scenes. You get to see more him in coming days. Ajay performed well as step brother. Ali as Samba, Brahmanandam as recovery Ranjith Kumar are hilarious. Nagineedu, Suhasini, Tanikella Bharani, Jaya Prakash Reddy etc justified their roles. Malaika Arora sizzled in item song ‘Kevvu Keka’. Technical: Full credit to director Harish Shankar for choosing an age old script and making it an out and out entertainer. Harish Shankar is in full control of the movie. His screenplay is flawless till the pre climax. Movie lags a bit at the end, but it is expected. Director fully knows the strengths of Pawan Kalyan and his fans expectations. He just worked on them to make it out and out entertainer. Harish Shankar also penned some powerful dialogues much to the delight of Pawan Kalyan fans. Next big thing is Music. Devi Sri Prasad music and background score is an asset to the movie. This time Pawan Kalyan also complemented his tunes with his dances. Cinematography by Jayan Vincent did a commendable job. Ram Laxman composed terrific fights. Editing by Goutham Raj is good. Production values are high. Analysis: First thing first, it is out and out entertaining film with all masala ingredients. Though it is a hackneyed story, director made it enjoyable with screenplay filled comedy scenes and Pawan Kalyan Action and dialogues. First half of the movie is fast paced and there are no dull moments. However, second half is bit slow towards climax before ending on predictable note. Pawan Kalyan Comedy, Dialogues and Dances are major pluses for the movie. All songs are picturised very well. But, ‘Kevvu Keka’ is bit disappointing considering the hype it got. Anthakshari episode in police station, Background songs are enjoyable. On the flipside, routine age old story, weak climax might work against the movie. Finally, it is a neat Commercial Entertainer which can be Enjoyed by Everyone. Go and watch it!!!
