F Andhra Entertainment : New Democracy angry over KCR’s attitude

Hyderabad, May 1: New Democracy has expressed its anger at the TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao trying to dislodge Prof. Kodandaram, Chairman of the Telangana JAC. Though Eetela Ravindra, TRS Legislature Party leader has on Monday denied that there were any differences between the TRS and the JAC, Suryam, spokesperson of the New Democracy told the media that he had information that KCR has called JAC chiefs of four or five districts and told them that Kodandaram was behaving in a high-handed manner and has to be removed. He said that it was feudalistic to feel that JAC was the creation of the TRS and has to be subservient to it. He said when he spoke to Kodandaram, he has refused to talk, and this gave him a clear idea of the seriousness of the situation. This is the first time that New Democracy, a partner of the JAC and the Telangana movement has come out in the open and criticized TRS. Suryam has said that chairmen of some districts have called his party leaders and informed about the phone calls they had received from KCR expressing displeasure over the style of functioning of Kodandaram and asking them to help remove him. He said New Democracy had demanded immediate convening of the JAC meeting and Kodandaram had agreed. Suryam has said it was highly improper on the part of KCR to state that it was he who has created JAC and hence it should act according to his diktats. This amounts to unilateral and feudalistic behavior, Suryam said. When TRS and BJP take on each other in an election, he said JAC could not express support to any one of them. JAC was created to fight for Telangana and not for ensuring the victories of political parties. He said his party was viewing at KCR’s behavior as violation of the terms and conditions under which JAC was created and accepted by all the partners. He said it was unfair on the part of either TRS or BJP to demand support of the JAC for them in the Parakala by-election. If JAC supports one particular party it would lose its credibility, he added. Stating that Kodandaram should maintain independent stance, he said no one has the authority to dictate terms to him.
