Rajahmundry, May 2 (INN): Rajahmundry police on Monday arrested a six-member gang for luring gullible women into prostitution by offering them easy money. These women were later sent to Hyderabad from the city, the police said. Acting on the definite clues, a police team arrested the six members of the gang in the wee hours of Monday at Kotipally bus stand. The arrested have been identified as S Santhosh and R Raj Kumar of Visakhapatnam, M Vijay and V Srinu of Rajahmundry), M Kumar alias Babji of Samalkot and N Satyanarayana of Ravulapalem. According to Rajahmundry Two Town Sub-Inspector Ramanamma, the accused have been luring the women to brothels by enticing them with false promises of money. Once into the gang's trap, the women would be shifted to work as prostitutes in Hyderabad, Ms Ramanamma told INN. Five women were also rescued from the clutches of the gang, the SI said. She identified these women as M Rajeswari and M Roopa from Rajahmundry, U Lavanya from Visakhapatnam, G Sruthi of Kakinada and T Selvamani of Undrajapuram. The police also recovered six cell phones, Rs 30,000 in cash and a car that the gang members were using for transportation. Rajahmundry Two Town police registered case under the Prevention of Immoral Trafficking Act.
