The couple met at a party in 1999 at a bash in New York and got married in 2004 after Salman divorced his third wife at the age of 55 and she was then 33. Padma reveals about those misunderstandings between them, when she was trying to possess some own identity though she tried to cope the new life as wife. It turned worse when she could not be there where Salman wanted her to be and he even labelled her as 'bad investment'.
Life went on when Padma divorced Salman Rushdie in 2007 and met Ted Forstmann, the rich man and chief executive of sports and artist management company IMG. He died in 2011. Now she had a daughter of 6 year old daughter with Adam Dell, a venture capitalist.
Padma Lakshmi's version and revelations seems to have less impact on her ex-husband Salman,as did not respond on it yet. Salman once said that it was strange for him to get married four times, who actually thinks that marriage is not necessary at all. Salman Rushdie received death threats and a fatwa assassination by a supreme leader of Iran in 1989, for his book 'The satanic verse', which evoked mayhem in many Muslim countries. -
